Bernie Houston Sea Drift Sculptures Award-winning, whimsical and thought provoking, Bernie's sculptures are created using one solid piece of driftwood which is carved, painted and varnished. Inspired by the natural design structure of the wood itself, he meticulously chosen driftwood based on its age, shape and overall form. The wood determines the nature of the piece.

Joan Orme Joan photographs the unusual, detail that is usually overlooked, and the astonishing patterns, designs and symmetry both in nature and in the man-made. Her varied subject matter is found locally, within approximately 100 miles of Easton, and mostly on the Eastern Shore where she calls home. Joan enjoys exhibiting her fine art photographs framed as well as in “giclée” printing technique which is a method of printing photographs on primed artist’s canvas and stretching on a frame.

Josh Serck Josh Serck is a mosaic artist and landscape architect. In 2008, Josh assisted Carlos Alves, a Miami, Florida based mosaic artist, apply for, win and install several art in public places projects in Miami-Dade County and Palm Beach County. This experience gave Josh a unique perspective on the relationship between art and public spaces and launched his mosaic career. Since then, Josh has developed a passion for mosaics that can be seen in his work.

Russ Orme Russ has been working in the medium of ink and pastel pencil on red oak boards for the past 23 years, and began the mixed media of paint, pen and ink with pastel pencil on poplar boards. He attended Maryland Institute of Art for 2 years after graduating from North Caroline High School in 1964. Each piece of art is an original, hand drawn or painted image with pastel pencil used for color and shading. At least 8 coats of polyurethane are used during the process.

Larry Ringgold As a lifetime resident of the Chesapeake Bay, beach combing has always been a major pastime. Walking the many beaches of the Chesapeake watershed searching for that perfectly shaped piece of driftwood has become Larry's life’s passion. His sculptures cover a menagerie of subjects from mermaids and centaurs to horses, foxes, sea turtles to herons and eagles. All sculptures are treated are thoroughly cleaned and treated with a paraffin-based preservative.

TomYates

Tom Yates Tom has been creating his unique brand of wood sculptures since 1993. Working out of his studio on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, he finds inspiration-on his long walks along the shores and inlets of the Chesapeake. He ‘sees’ his creations in the root structures of these old trees and brings them to life through a detailed process of design, carving, and finishing. His work balances the natural beauty of the wood with his design and carving skills to produce striking faces and figures.

Mike Campbell Mike is an Eastern Shore native who has lived a life of diverse experiences. He feels a close connection with the shorelines and the nature of the Bay, and is inspired by the organic forms of the driftwood he finds. He first began working with driftwood during a trip to Belize, where he met a local wood carver who taught him his art of driftwood sculpting. Campbell developed his own unique style and technique and now creates beautiful, abstract sculptures.

Eddie Ford Badass Metal Sculpture Have you ever wondered who the metal sculpture is that makes the amazing pieces down the street from Rise Up on Dover St? It’s this guy! He had been welding all his life as part of his work making truck bodies and clam rigs but he never tried making something without a useful purpose. He began making things out of metal that told his point of view.

Jen Wagner Jen is an award-winning mosaic artist and lover of creative projects. A native to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, she specializes in large scale community projects, murals, and installations in homes and businesses throughout the United States. Her gallery pieces are collected by art enthusiasts from all over the world. Her work is a reflection of her life; she is often inspired by quotes, books, poems, a line from a song or the feeling of a moment.
